Andrew's Week 6 Progress Report

Over the weekend we met as a group to begin firing up the circuit to check communication between the chip and troubleshoot any issues which arose.   The circuit is temporarily connected to a 60Hz sinewave supplied by the function generator so that the circuit can be worked on safely before isolation is put into place. After troubleshooting several problems we had encountered the previous semester we established communication between the micro controller and the computer.  After doing this we checked the values being passed by the temperature register on the ADE7763 chip.  After analyzing the datasheet I determined that I must supply an external clock to the ADE7763 so today Tuesday March 1 I purchased the components required to connect the external oscillator.  After purchasing the components I connected the oscillator to our circuit. Despite adding this clock So far we have been unsuccessful in getting valid readings from the ADE7763.  A receipt of the oscillator parts is shown below as well as a picture of the circuit as built so far.

Aside from working with our group I have been working on the isolation portion of our circuit.  I decided to use the IL-710-2E because we used these chips in a previous lab last semester.  Also these chips have a Output Enable pin so it is compatible with MISO portion of the circuti which requires the output to have high impedance when in an idle state.  Shown below is an updated schematic which includes the isolation.
